Present at the press conference after Paris FC’s dramatic 2–2 draw against OM, Stéphane Gilli was all smiles. Proud of his players and their strong finish, the Paris-area coach was also celebrating a symbolic milestone: his 100th match on the club’s bench. Up to that point, everything was perfectly under control… almost.
Stéphane Gilli is aiming higher. Full of confidence in recent days, especially since the Coupe de France victory over PSG, the Paris FC manager made a small verbal blunder.
A milestone overshadowed by a verbal mistake
While speaking about his journey, the 51-year-old coach wanted to share his emotion — but his brain delivered the decisive pass to the wrong club. Gilli mentioned his “100 matches on the PSG bench” before quickly correcting himself with an embarrassed smile. “I’m very happy about these 100 matches with PSG… PFC. Uh, we’ll cut that part, right?” he joked.
Fully aware of his slip, he immediately added: “This one is going to be everywhere.” A visionary as well as a coach — the clip is already making its way into highlight reels. A complete performance, both on and off the pitch.
