Tensions and discomfort had been reported in recent weeks within the Paris Saint-Germain academy. In response to these concerns, an investigation by the labor inspectorate as well as an internal inquiry were launched. The club’s works council (CSE) had even called for the departure of Yohan Cabaye, the sporting director in charge of youth development and pre-academy programs.
Ultimately, the Parisian leadership chose not to go that far. According to L’Équipe, after reviewing the case and the collected evidence, PSG decided to keep the former French international in his role while issuing him a formal warning.
PSG Maintains Confidence in Yohan Cabaye
Lucas Vigneron, head of operations at the academy and also criticized in the CSE report for his management style, has not faced any sanctions despite internal calls for his departure.
The club stands by its decision. Still according to L’Équipe, PSG “reaffirms its confidence in Yohan Cabaye and considers that the measures taken are proportionate.”
Nevertheless, several changes have been implemented following these tensions, particularly within the pre-academy and the recruitment unit. These measures were presented on Monday to academy staff by Victoriano Melero, the club’s chief executive officer, alongside general secretary Grégory Durand and human resources director Caroline Jucla.
