Paris Saint-Germain and Olympique de Marseille will not only be facing each other for a trophy; they will also serve as the testing ground for a small revolution. This Thursday, during the Trophée des Champions broadcast on Ligue 1+, the match will be commentated… by an artificial intelligence for the Italian audience.

AI is also making its way into football. The LFP is about to try a bold experiment. For the first time, the French commentary will be translated live into Italian thanks to an AI developed by the company CAMB.AI.

A New Era for Football Broadcasting

The striking feature is that the technology does not just translate; it is also capable of reproducing the tone and the voices of the French commentators, namely Xavier Domergue and Benoît Cheyrou.

The innovation is backed by LFP Media, whose platform has been available in Italy since last September. From the Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium in Kuwait City, this PSG-OM will therefore serve as a full-scale test for a new way of consuming football, where the language barrier fades behind the machine. A first step that could well herald a new era in match broadcasting.
