PSG are through to the Club World Cup round of 16 after a solid 2–0 win over Seattle. But the victory came at a heavy cost. With 61 matches played this season, fatigue is taking its toll. The Parisians are still standing — but just barely.
“It was hot, the pitch wasn’t great. We feel tired, but we push on,” said João Neves. Vitinha agreed: “Yes, we’re tired. But that’s no excuse. We have to recover and be ready.”
PSG on the verge of burnout
Luis Enrique had planned to rotate — but ended up relying on his core players again. Donnarumma, Hakimi, Pacho, Vitinha, Kvaratskhelia and Doué all played three matches in eight days. “It’s not easy after such a long season,” admitted Donnarumma. “We need to train well, eat right, and stay focused.”
Despite the exhaustion, the team remains committed. “You never know when you’ll get to play another Club World Cup,” said Vitinha. Hakimi added: “I’m a competitor. We’re here to win everything.”
Next up: a massive showdown against Messi and Inter Miami. PSG are battered, but still chasing glory.
