PSG Regret Their Victory Against Liverpool!

Ultra-dominant, Paris Saint-Germain comfortably defeated Liverpool (2-0). Yet despite an impressive performance, the Parisians have reasons to feel frustrated ahead of the return leg.

A demonstration… but a frustrating scoreline. Against a feared opponent, PSG delivered a one-sided match. Luis Enrique did not hide his frustration: “It’s clearly a shame, I think we played at the level our fans expect. We played very well and deserved more goals.” Before adding a note of caution: “This is the Champions League, there’s still the second leg. We know it will be difficult at Anfield, which is a special place.”

The feeling is shared across the squad. Goal scorer Khvicha Kvaratskhelia admitted PSG should have sealed the tie: “We had the chances to score more. We should have scored more goals.” Achraf Hakimi echoed the sentiment: “We kept Liverpool alive for the return leg, but we’re happy with the performance,” while Warren Zaïre-Emery added: “We could have scored more, it’s a shame, but winning 2-0 is still good.” With a two-goal advantage, PSG are in a strong position, but they know they must replicate this dominance at Anfield to secure qualification, as missed chances can prove costly in such encounters.
