The 27-year-old was accused of overexerting himself — pushing through sprints and high-intensity drills ahead of schedule. The staff fears a relapse, and is refusing to rush his return.

Dembélé, who has already scored 33 goals this season, sees the Club World Cup — especially in the absence of rivals like Lamine Yamal — as the perfect stage to shine. His teammates are said to back him, but Luis Enrique remains cautious: “He’s progressing well, but we won’t take unnecessary risks.”
