FC Barcelona has been cleared to reopen the Camp Nou — but only partially.
According to Mundo Deportivo, the city council has approved a special permit allowing 27,000 fans to attend the La Liga clash against Valencia on September 14, marking Barça’s return to their iconic home for the first time since May 2023.
Originally, the plan was to reopen with 60,000 fans, but construction delays forced the club to scale down. Only Phase 1a — the south goal and main stand — is ready, with Phases 1b and 1c (45,000 and 60,000 capacities) to follow later.
The full 105,000-seat stadium won’t be ready until at least 2026.
First time since May 2023 at Camp Nou… maybe
Barça still needs final green lights, including environmental and safety certificates, but the countdown is on. This limited return could reignite the connection between team and supporters in what promises to be a pivotal season.
