Miguel Ángel Russo, the head coach of Boca Juniors, has passed away at the age of 69, a devastating loss for the club and Argentine football alike.

In a heartfelt statement, Boca Juniors expressed their sorrow, stating, “Miguel leaves an indelible mark on our institution and will always be an example of joy, warmth, and effort.”

Diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2017, Russo recently suffered from a urinary infection, according to Argentine media. He had to step down for his assistant, Claudio Úbeda, on September 21.
