In a stunning display, PSG kicked off their Champions League title defense by demolishing Atalanta 4-0 at Parc des Princes. Despite missing key players, the team showcased their dominance right from the start.

Marquinhos struck first in the 3rd minute, with Kvaratskhelia adding to the tally before halftime. Nuno Mendes and Gonçalo Ramos sealed the victory in the second half, although a missed penalty by Barcola and a shot hitting the post by Hakimi hinted it could’ve been even more lopsided.

PSG controlled the game with an impressive 67% possession, completing 711 passes and unleashing 22 shots, 15 of which were in the box. Atalanta, known for their resilience, struggled to find any answers and were completely outplayed.

PSG’s Strong Start Sends a Message

Manager Luis Enrique, despite a lengthy injury list, crafted a balanced squad that combined strong defense with creative offense, utilizing talented young players effectively.

After the match, Enrique stated their goal was simply to start strong in the Champions League, not to send a warning to rivals.

With 133 goals scored in 2025 and a 30-match streak of scoring at home in the Champions League, PSG is clearly on a mission as they look to maintain momentum against Marseille and Barcelona next.
