It is now official—or almost! Cristiano Ronaldo is set to make his movie debut. The rumor was confirmed by Vin Diesel a few days ago and has since been backed up with a photo… but it turns out to be a montage.
The Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo will be part of the cast of Fast X: Part 2, the 12th and final installment of the Fast & Furious saga, scheduled for release in April 2027.
Cristiano Ronaldo joins the Fast & Furious saga
A few days ago, Vin Diesel lifted the veil on the announcement via Instagram: “Everyone was asking if he would be part of the Fast mythology. I can tell you he is legitimate. We wrote a role for him,” wrote the actor and producer of the franchise.
Then came another form of confirmation. “Welcome to the family,” announced actor Tyrese Gibson on December 17 on his X account. But beware: the photo was created using AI. Vin Diesel, Jason Statham, Michelle Rodriguez, Dwayne Johnson, Ludacris, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Tyrese Gibson did not actually pose together. Official confirmation or simple buzz? In principle, one can trust one of the saga’s main actors. Cristiano Ronaldo has not confirmed the news, nor have the producers or directors.

Presented as the grand finale of a saga launched in 2001, Fast X: Part 2 will once again bring together a blockbuster cast featuring iconic figures from the series: Michelle Rodriguez, Jason Statham, Dwayne Johnson, Charlize Theron, and Jason Momoa. Filming will take place in Los Angeles, a symbolic return to the franchise’s roots. For Cristiano Ronaldo, this on-screen appearance marks a new milestone in an already extraordinary career.
After conquering world football, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner is stepping into Hollywood, once again proving his ability to push boundaries—even far from the pitch.
