At just 22 years old, Kaua Santos has pulled off an extraordinary comeback. After suffering a right posterior cruciate ligament tear last April, the Brazilian goalkeeper remarkably rejoined the Eintracht Frankfurt lineup in just 151 days.

According to Bild, Santos’ swift recovery was no fluke. The club sought guidance from several European specialists, including renowned Portuguese surgeon José Carlos Noronha, who came highly recommended by Cristiano Ronaldo’s entourage.

The verdict? No surgery needed, but an intensive rehabilitation program was essential. Santos underwent rigorous training in Portugal, with his physical progress deemed impressive by the club’s standards.

Santos: From Backup to Star

Frankfurt is now prioritizing Santos as their main goalkeeper. With former starter Kevin Trapp moving to FC Paris and Michael Zetterer stepping in as backup, Santos has firmly established himself in the squad.

His rapid ascent has caught the attention of major European clubs, including Manchester United and Wolverhampton, who inquired about him late in the transfer window. However, both the player and Eintracht declined the offers.

Now, Santos aims to solidify his position and become one of Europe’s top keepers, with the club’s sporting director Markus Krösche envisioning a future sale of at least €60 million. But for now, all eyes are on how he performs this Saturday against Gladbach.
