Hugo Ekitike wasted no time making his mark in a Liverpool shirt. After scoring in the Community Shield against Crystal Palace, the former Frankfurt striker followed up with a goal and an assist in the Reds’ 4-2 Premier League win over Bournemouth.
A dream start for the 23-year-old forward, signed this summer for €95m.
But Ekitike isn’t getting carried away. “It was a good performance, but I could have done better,” he told Sky Sports. “I have so many things to improve to help the team more. I will get better and bring more. Playing here is a dream, I’m enjoying every moment.”
Ambitious and determined, Ekitike already wants to establish himself as a key figure in Liverpool’s attack — music to the ears of Anfield fans, who are already won over by his explosive first steps.
