Mahamadou Sangaré decided to leave last summer. Paris Saint-Germain let him go, yet his early days at Manchester City have been rather frustrating, as he admitted to Onze Mondial.

A Departure Driven by an Unclear Sporting Project

In an interview with Onze Mondial, the former Paris youth product explained that he found the project offered by PSG too vague. “The project proposed by PSG was not clear. We disagreed on certain points. After thinking it through, I decided to leave the club,” he said.

Sangaré was not asking for unrealistic promises, but for a genuine opportunity. “I wanted playing time, a place in the professional squad. I wasn’t looking for guarantees, but at least a real chance. From their message, I understood I wouldn’t get minutes. So I chose not to sign my professional contract with PSG.”

Having moved to England hoping to speed up his development, the young forward admits that things have not unfolded exactly as planned. “Today, I’m at City. I train from time to time with the first team. Everything is going well, I’m showing my qualities. But for now, things aren’t going as expected. I would like to get minutes with the senior team.” Clear-eyed but determined, Sangaré insists he will keep working hard to reach his goals. The English gamble has begun — now he must make it pay off.
