The clash between Luis Enrique and João Pedro is making headlines worldwide. While Chelsea were celebrating their Club World Cup triumph (3-0 vs PSG), a heated altercation erupted at the final whistle.
A slap, regrets… and an admission : In a tense atmosphere, Luis Enrique approached a scuffle between players, seemingly trying to calm things down. But after being pushed twice by João Pedro, the PSG coach snapped and touched the striker’s face, causing the Brazilian to fall theatrically to the ground.
“I’m an idiot. He pushed me, I touched him, and he went down,” Luis Enrique told his staff, as caught by DAZN cameras. Later in the press conference, he tried to downplay the incident: “There was a lot of tension. I just wanted to separate the players. These are situations we should all avoid.”
João Pedro hits back: “They don’t know how to lose”
João Pedro didn’t hold back when speaking to SporTV: “I went to protect Andrey Santos, who was surrounded by players. In all the chaos, I got pushed too… but they don’t know how to lose.” A sharp dig at PSG, reflecting the bad blood on the pitch.
PSG under fire across Europe
With Luis Enrique’s slap, Neves’s red card for hair pulling, and tensions flaring post-match, PSG completely lost control. Chelsea, meanwhile, enjoyed a dream night — celebrating their title with Donald Trump watching from the stands, adding an unexpected twist to an already surreal evening.
