Chelsea have made history! By defeating PSG 3-0 in the final this Sunday in New York, the Blues became the first-ever winners of the revamped FIFA Club World Cup.
At the MetLife Stadium, Reece James lifted the trophy to roaring applause… and under the watchful eye of a very unexpected guest: U.S. President Donald Trump.
Originally expected to leave the stage before the ceremony, Trump chose to stay, standing right next to the podium, just a few feet away from the Chelsea players. A moment of awkwardness followed — especially for captain Reece James, who appeared to be waiting for Trump to step aside… but he never did.
A surreal and unforgettable image to cap off a historic night for the Blues.
