It has been a fantastic year in 2025 for Mason Greenwood. The OM player has scored an impressive number of goals, allowing him to claim an honorary title.
Mason Greenwood finishes the year 2025 at the top of the Ligue 1 goalscorers’ standings. Scoring in OM’s big win against Monaco (1-0), the Marseille forward has totaled 22 goals over the calendar year, making him the league’s top marksman.
Mason Greenwood crowned Ligue 1 top scorer
The former Manchester United player clearly edges out Esteban Lepaul, who scored 17 goals with Angers and then Rennes. Ousmane Dembélé completes the podium with 15 goals in a PSG shirt, a tally held back by an injury-hit start to the season.
After Ousmane Dembélé, Roberto De Zerbi sees Mason Greenwood claim the supreme individual award. “His potential is huge, I don’t see many players in Europe at this level,” says the Italian coach, while setting one clear condition: consistency. De Zerbi expects even more from his winger, particularly in pressing, ball management, and influence during difficult phases.
But when Greenwood lets loose, the spectacle is total. His second goal, featuring a feint and a powerful left-footed strike, left his coach stunned: “I turn around and say to myself, ‘wow’.” For De Zerbi, Greenwood has the talent. It is now up to him to reach the very top.
