At Paris Saint-Germain, the Senny Mayulu case is taking a delicate turn. The club wants to extend their academy graduate’s contract until 2030, and the player himself reportedly favors continuing his journey in Paris. In principle, both sides are aligned. But behind the scenes, talks have become seriously complicated.
According to several consistent sources, negotiations are currently at a standstill. The reason: salary demands considered far above the club’s internal wage structure. This stance has reportedly caused some internal confusion, especially given how heavily Paris has invested in developing and integrating the attacking midfielder.
A Risky Standoff Over Contract Demands
PSG have reportedly submitted a long-term extension offer running until 2030. However, Mayulu’s camp is said to be seeking a significant pay rise. Internally, some believe it is dangerous to “play with fire” when dealing with a management team determined to maintain wage consistency within its long-term project.
The Gianluigi Donnarumma precedent has also resurfaced in discussions. Paris did not hesitate to stand firm when faced with what were deemed excessive demands. The message is clear: no player, no matter how promising, stands above the club’s strategy. If the deadlock continues, the possibility of a departure could quickly come into focus.
