According to information relayed by Ligue 1 On Air, two France internationals left the national team camp after Monday night’s 3-1 win over Northern Ireland in Lille: Kylian Mbappé and Michael Olise.
France captain Kylian Mbappé headed to Madrid immediately after the match. The Real Madrid forward returned to Spain in the evening to get back to his usual surroundings before the big departure for the United States.
Back at Clairefontaine on Wednesday
Michael Olise also left Clairefontaine on Tuesday morning. The Bayern Munich attacking midfielder returned to Germany, heading back to Munich after taking part in the France squad gathering.
However, these departures do not signal any particular problem. Both players are simply enjoying a short break before rejoining their teammates, with Didier Deschamps’ squad due back at Clairefontaine on Wednesday at midday for the official departure to the United States.
France are now preparing to cross the Atlantic to continue their preparations and fulfill their next international commitments on American soil. Mbappé and Olise will be part of the trip despite their temporary returns to their respective clubs.
