Kylian Mbappé is no longer hiding how happy he is. Since settling in Madrid following his move to Real Madrid, the France captain says he enjoys a much more peaceful life than he did in France, despite becoming a global superstar.
Mbappé does not plan to move back to France anytime soon—and perhaps never. In an interview with Le Parisien, the French forward admitted that his fame has reached a level he never imagined possible. “I was prepared quite early to live with ‘normal’ fame because the people around me knew I would probably become a very good football player. But today, I’m beyond super famous. My level of notoriety is extraordinary.”
Mbappé Enjoying More Freedom in Madrid
Despite his worldwide popularity, Mbappé explained that he has found a sense of freedom in Spain that he had not experienced for years. “You just have to accept it and adapt. But I’m very happy in Madrid. I can live more freely than in France. I can do activities that I had never done before.”
The former PSG star believes cultural differences play a major role in his daily life. “In Madrid, the culture is different. People allow you to live your life a little more. That’s also why I really enjoy life in Madrid, beyond Real Madrid itself, which was my childhood dream.”
These comments are likely to spark reactions in France, where Mbappé remains one of the country’s most heavily scrutinized and talked-about public figures.
