A chill has swept through Real Madrid. While Florentino Pérez still dreams of landing a new Galáctico to ignite the transfer market, José Mourinho reportedly has a very different vision for the club.
Mourinho is already making his stance clear. Convincing the Portuguese manager will not be easy, as the Special One has never been known for backing down. According to journalist Miguel Serrano (Radio Marca, Onda Cero), Pérez is eager to make a major statement this summer by signing a world-class attacking star. The names of Julian Alvarez and Michael Olise have been heavily linked with the Spanish giants in recent days.
Mourinho Wants a More Balanced Squad
Behind the scenes, however, Mourinho is reportedly resisting the idea. The Portuguese coach believes Real Madrid already possesses enough attacking firepower and does not view the arrival of another superstar worth hundreds of millions of euros as a priority.
The disagreement is said to be significant. While a budget of up to €200 million has reportedly been discussed to attract a global star, Mourinho would rather spread that investment across several targeted signings, particularly in midfield and at left-back.
A first power struggle may already be emerging between Florentino Pérez and his manager. On one side is the desire to bring another Galáctico to the Santiago Bernabéu. On the other is the ambition to build a more balanced and complete squad. Real Madrid’s summer transfer window is already shaping up to be explosive.
