The standoff between PSG and Kylian Mbappé is continuing to escalate. After the Parisian club was ordered to pay, the player has now sent bailiffs.
Kylian Mbappé has appointed bailiffs to secure payment of the remaining balance of his paid leave owed by PSG. Out of the €60.9 million already paid by the club, €5.9 million is reportedly still outstanding. A judicial seizure of the club’s accounts could be initiated.
Legal Pressure Over Unpaid Sums
For its part, PSG says discussions are ongoing with the player’s representatives to determine how the remaining amounts will be settled, according to L’Équipe.
This case is part of a broader context. Ordered by the Paris labor court, PSG was required to pay nearly €61 million to Kylian Mbappé for unpaid wages, bonuses, and leave at the end of his contract in 2024. The ruling is subject to provisional enforcement.
The breakdown includes €36,666,680 gross for the third installment of the signing bonus, €3,666,666 in paid leave linked to that bonus, €17,250,000 in salary arrears for April, May, and June 2024, €1,725,000 in paid leave on those salaries, €1,500,000 in ethics bonuses for the same period, and €150,000 gross in related paid leave. However, the labor court rejected the request to reclassify the fixed-term contracts as a permanent contract.
