Stade Rennais has officially denied the rumors claiming that Habib Beye made so-called “crazy” demands in order to leave the club. The Beye situation is gaining attention in Rennes — but not in the way many expected. Despite an apparent dispute with their coach, the club has publicly come to his defense.
Several media outlets reported that the manager had set extreme financial conditions for his departure, including full payment of his current season’s salary, next season’s salary — conditional on European qualification — and a percentage of future transfer fees for Jérémy Jacquet and Kader Meïté, citing his role in their development.
Rennes Strongly Denies Transfer and Salary Claims
In an official statement, Rennes firmly rejected these accusations and described them as defamatory. “The management of Stade Rennais F.C. strongly denies these allegations,” the club said in its release.
The club also condemned what it called “fantastical” claims tied to potential player transfers and insisted that none of the reported allegations have any factual basis. Leadership pointed to a dishonest attempt to destabilize the team ahead of an important match and emphasized a united front among players, staff, and management to restore positive momentum.
