It is now official: Neymar will indeed play in the 2026 World Cup with Brazil. Carlo Ancelotti revealed his final 26-man squad on Monday evening, and the Santos star is included. The announcement sparked huge celebrations in the room when the Italian manager pronounced the former PSG player’s name.
Absent from the Brazilian national team since October 2023 due to serious injuries, Neymar is finally making his long-awaited return to the Seleção at the perfect moment. For several days, Brazilian media had already reported that his inclusion was almost guaranteed, but the official confirmation triggered massive excitement across the country.
Brazil Unveils a Star-Studded Squad
Neymar will reunite with his former Paris Saint-Germain teammate Marquinhos, who has also been selected by Carlo Ancelotti for the 2026 World Cup. However, PSG defender Lucas Beraldo did not make the final squad.
Another major talking point is the presence of Endrick. The young Real Madrid striker, who spent the season on loan at Lyon, has earned his place after several convincing months in Ligue 1 under the watch of the Italian coach.
With Neymar, Vinicius Junior, Raphinha and Gabriel Martinelli leading the attack, Brazil boasts an incredibly impressive offensive lineup as the Seleção aims to reclaim a world title that has eluded them since 2002.
