FC Barcelona is facing a frustrating start to the 2025-2026 season, as it has yet to debut its new kits in official matches. This situation has infuriated Nike, the club’s long-time sponsor.
The American sportswear giant, which has partnered with Barça for 27 years, recently launched three new jerseys: the classic blaugrana, a special yellow tribute to Kobe Bryant, and an orange design inspired by the iconic ‘Total 90’.
While fans are clamoring for the new gear in stores, La Liga has rejected all three options during matches against Mallorca and Levante due to color similarity issues. Consequently, the team had to revert to last year’s green third kit, a move that has sparked backlash.
Color Conflict with Opponents
Nike is livid about missing two Liga games without showcasing its latest products. Although they acknowledge that Barça is not at fault, they lament La Liga’s rigidity, especially when Real Madrid could resolve the issue by merely changing shorts.

However, relief is on the horizon. Reports suggest that Barça has received approval to wear its new blaugrana kit in the upcoming match against Rayo Vallecano, bringing joy to Nike, the club, and fans eager to see the fresh colors in action.
