Even if Paris Saint-Germain triumphs over Inter Milan in the Champions League final on May 31 in Munich, there will be no victory parade on the Champs-Élysées.
According to Le Parisien and RMC Sport, Paris city officials and French authorities have vetoed the idea of a celebratory gathering on the iconic avenue, citing security concerns.
Risks Deemed Too High
Both the Paris Police Prefecture and national authorities fear the logistical and safety challenges of handling potential crowd trouble immediately after the final, followed by a massive parade the next day (Sunday, June 1).
Organizing and securing such a large-scale event on such short notice is considered too complex and risky.
Alternative Celebrations at the Parc des Princes?
PSG is now exploring other options, including broadcasting the final on giant screens at the Parc des Princes. If the team wins, celebrations may take place in a more controlled environment—at the club’s home stadium, surrounded by its most loyal supporters.
The date is set: May 31 could be historic for PSG. But if there’s a party, don’t expect it on the Champs-Élysées.
