PSG Welcomes Back Dembélé but Ruiz Faces Setback

After suffering a blow to his left knee, Fabian Ruiz will have to wait longer before returning to action with PSG. The Spanish midfielder is dealing with a sprain and will not be available for the Champions League clash against Chelsea. At the same time, Ousmane Dembélé is moving closer to making his return to competition.

Already sidelined since late January after taking a knock against Sporting Portugal, Fabian Ruiz had recently resumed individual training. However, during this comeback attempt, the Spanish international felt fresh pain in his left knee. Medical examinations confirmed a sprain, forcing the Parisian medical staff to adjust his recovery program.

Meanwhile, the Parisian club could receive good news regarding Ousmane Dembélé. The French winger, who suffered a calf injury about ten days ago, missed the last three matches to avoid any relapse and allow for a full recovery.

According to L’Équipe, the French international could return to the squad as early as Friday’s match against Monaco. PSG’s objective is clear: give Dembélé time to regain match fitness ahead of the double showdown with Chelsea, with the first leg scheduled for March 11 at the Parc des Princes.
