The Prestianni–Vinicius Jr affair is now spilling over into Real Madrid. José Luis Chilavert, who had already sparked controversy with remarks aimed at Vinícius Júnior and Kylian Mbappé, has now turned his attention to Thibaut Courtois.
José Luis Chilavert appears to be unrestrained. He continues his personal attacks and homophobic and racist statements. Speaking at a press conference, Thibaut Courtois reacted firmly to the clash between Vinicius and Prestianni, but especially to Chilavert’s comments: “It’s regrettable. You can’t say things like that. They no longer have a place in today’s world.”
Chilavert Escalates His Verbal Attacks on Courtois
The former Paraguayan goalkeeper then responded on Radio Rivadavia, directly targeting the Belgian shot-stopper. “He stole his teammate De Bruyne’s girlfriend, and he talks about values. Prestianni was insulted by Vinicius as a ‘f***ing coward,’ and Mbappé called him a ‘f***ing racist,’ so they can insult you but you can’t say anything,” he said.
“He’s an average goalkeeper”: Chilavert softens his tone after earlier harsh remarks. “Regrettably, someone needs to tell Courtois that Belgium is controlled by Muslims, with whom they are complacent, and they beat and kill their women. South American values are pro-family. Courtois should also learn how to play with his feet and come off his line, he’s an average goalkeeper,” the Paraguayan told Radio Rivadavia.
This latest outburst further fuels the controversy surrounding the former Paraguayan international.
