Lionel Messi has won everything in football, yet he is not perfect. Speaking on the show Miro de Atrás, the Argentine opened up about his greatest regret. And it has nothing to do with football.
Lionel Messi has completed the game. He has won it all. World Cup champion, four-time UEFA Champions League winner and eight-time Ballon d’Or recipient, the 38-year-old boasts an extraordinary list of achievements. Now playing for Inter Miami CF, the Argentine has reignited his season with his sights set on another world title this summer.
A Personal Regret Beyond Football
Appearing as a guest on Miro de Atrás, Messi shared a more intimate confession. Despite a career crowned with success, he admits carrying a personal regret.
“I regret so many other things. I always tell my children to study and prepare themselves. When I was a child, I had the time to learn English and I didn’t do it. Later, I regretted it a lot, because I had the opportunity to meet incredible people, to experience extraordinary situations where I could speak and have conversations, and you feel ignorant. What a waste,” he explained. A surprising admission from a football legend, proving that even the greatest figures carry their own regrets.
