Real Madrid and Getafe have reached a permanent agreement for Mario Martin. After an impressive season with the Azulones, the 22-year-old Spanish midfielder is leaving Los Blancos for good and will continue his career in the Madrid suburbs.
Real Madrid’s summer transfer window has begun, at least in terms of departures. Loaned out during the 2025-26 season, Mario Martin made 37 appearances in all competitions and scored four goals. His performances convinced Getafe to activate the €3.5 million purchase option included in the deal. The player is now under contract with the club until June 2030.
Getafe Reward a Strong Season
In an official statement, Getafe expressed its satisfaction with the agreement reached with Real Madrid. “Getafe CF and Real Madrid have reached an agreement for the transfer of Mario Martin. The midfielder has signed for four additional seasons with the Azulón club,” the La Liga side announced.
The Madrid-based club also shared a warm message for its now permanent player: “Keep bringing us joy, Super Mario,” read the message published on social media.
Having come through Real Madrid’s academy, Mario Martin will now look to take the next step in his career with Getafe. It is a long-term investment for the Azulones, who have secured one of the most frequently used players in their squad this season.
