At Real Madrid, the situation surrounding Kylian Mbappé is becoming increasingly tense. His Italian getaway has not gone down well, nor has his behavior within the club, according to L’Équipe.
Mbappé enjoying himself in Sardinia has not been well received. The French striker’s controversial vacation in Cagliari, while he is supposed to be recovering from a muscle injury, has reignited internal tensions.
Growing Tensions Within the Squad
According to L’Équipe, some members of the locker room are growing increasingly frustrated with the privileges enjoyed by the former Paris Saint-Germain player. Between an attitude perceived as arrogant toward a staff member and a noticeable 40-minute delay to a team meal, irritation is mounting.
Gradually, Mbappé is said to be isolating himself within the Madrid locker room. While his connections remain strong with his teammates from the France national football team, they are reportedly weakening with the rest of the squad. Internally, the club also criticizes the forward for his lack of discretion and his inability to gauge the impact of his actions on Real Madrid’s image during an already very disappointing season.
The tension has now spread beyond the locker room. On social media, many Madrid supporters are voicing their frustration. Some are openly calling for his departure, with viral messages such as “Mbappé out.”
Despite impressive statistics, the French international is going through a particularly difficult period, likely the most critical since his arrival in Madrid. Officially, his coach Arbeloa has stated that players are free to do what they want during the rest period granted by the club. While that may be true, it does little to silence the criticism.
