An incredible scene unfolded in New York during the 2026 World Cup. Left out of England’s squad by manager Thomas Tuchel, Harry Maguire has found an unusual way to stay connected to the tournament.
Although he was not selected for the World Cup, the Manchester United defender is still in the United States. According to ESPN, Maguire was spotted inside a yellow Panini-branded van, handing out and selling sticker packs to fans on the streets of New York. Wearing a cap and sporting a smile, the former England captain embraced the role with plenty of self-deprecating humor.
Maguire Embraces World Cup Atmosphere
Quickly recognized by passersby, Maguire posed for countless photos and chatted with supporters. Videos of the marketing campaign have gone viral across social media, already generating millions of views.
The defender had previously admitted he was “shocked and devastated” after being omitted from the Three Lions squad by Thomas Tuchel. Instead of dwelling on the disappointment, however, he chose to enjoy the World Cup atmosphere in his own unique way.
