Lamine Yamal is not lacking ambition. In the middle of the World Cup, the Spanish prodigy has made it clear that he wants to cross paths with the France national team in the coming rounds. And not just at any stage: in the semi-finals.
Lamine Yamal has Les Bleus in his sights. While France will have to overcome Paraguay, La Roja must first get past Austria, with the quarter-finals still to come before a potential showdown between France and Spain.
Yamal already sends a message to France
In a video published by the Spanish national team, the FC Barcelona player revealed his ideal scenario for the final four. “In my mind, the semi-finals should be: France-Spain and Portugal-Argentina!” Lamine Yamal said.
Alongside him, Nico Williams did not hesitate to recall Spain’s recent wins over France. “We have already beaten them twice,” the Athletic Bilbao winger said, clearly confident ahead of a possible clash. When the presenter pointed out that Les Bleus had huge attacking firepower, Yamal was not impressed. His answer was immediate: “And us?”

A short sentence, but one that says a lot about the mindset of the young Spanish star. Yamal does not want to hide, and Spain seem ready to challenge anyone at this World Cup. One small detail, however: the Portugal-Argentina match mentioned in the video is no longer possible, as the sequence was probably filmed before the final group-stage matches. But one thing is clear: Lamine Yamal wants Les Bleus.
