Arsenal are stepping up their search for a defensive midfielder and have initiated concrete talks to sign João Palhinha (30), according to Bild.
The Portuguese international, under contract with Bayern Munich until 2028, has struggled for regular minutes under Vincent Kompany and is valued at around €40 million.
With Thomas Partey and Jorginho gone, the Gunners see Palhinha as a strong, experienced option to bolster their midfield. The former Fulham player is reportedly open to a return to the Premier League, where he left a strong impression.
