As per The Athletic, Liverpool are willing to offer €138 million (£117M) for the Swedish international — a deal that would shatter the Premier League transfer record. Isak is under contract with Newcastle until 2028 and is seen as untouchable. The club, backed by Saudi wealth, has no need to sell. But that price tag could change the game.

PSG outpaced, Ekitike as plan B

The PSG, long in the race, now appear out of contention as Liverpool push hard. Meanwhile, Hugo Ekitike (ex-PSG, now at Frankfurt) is being considered by Liverpool as a backup option in case the Isak deal falls through. Newcastle are also monitoring Ekitike — showing that both clubs are now targeting the same striking profiles.
