Big twists in the Alexander Isak saga. According to Fabrizio Romano, the Newcastle striker has given the green light for initial talks with Saudi giants Al-Hilal. Discussions are already underway between the Saudi club and Isak’s representatives.
But that’s not the only surprise: Liverpool have entered the race — fast and strong.
Liverpool ready to break the bank
As per The Athletic, Liverpool are willing to offer €138 million (£117M) for the Swedish international — a deal that would shatter the Premier League transfer record. Isak is under contract with Newcastle until 2028 and is seen as untouchable. The club, backed by Saudi wealth, has no need to sell. But that price tag could change the game.
PSG outpaced, Ekitike as plan B
The PSG, long in the race, now appear out of contention as Liverpool push hard. Meanwhile, Hugo Ekitike (ex-PSG, now at Frankfurt) is being considered by Liverpool as a backup option in case the Isak deal falls through. Newcastle are also monitoring Ekitike — showing that both clubs are now targeting the same striking profiles.
Liverpool want their new No.9 — and they’re willing to go all in. PSG? They may already be out of the picture.
