Liverpool is making serious moves this summer. While Alexander Isak has agreed to a five-year deal with the Reds, Hugo Ekitike has already completed his transfer to Anfield in a blockbuster move worth €95 million including bonuses. The former PSG striker joins from Eintracht Frankfurt.
The first big piece of the puzzle: Alexander Isak has given the green light to join Liverpool. The Newcastle striker has accepted personal terms for a five-year contract. Now, Liverpool must reach an agreement with the Magpies, who are demanding around €135 million (£115M) for their star forward. Negotiations are expected to be intense.
Ekitike enters elite company
Meanwhile, Hugo Ekitike (23) has signed a six-year contract with the Reds. After reigniting his career in Germany following a difficult spell at PSG, Ekitike now steps up to the elite level. With a total fee of €95 million, he becomes the fifth most expensive French player in history, behind Kylian Mbappé, Ousmane Dembélé, Antoine Griezmann, and Paul Pogba.
PSG cashes in
Paris Saint-Germain benefits from the deal too. Thanks to a 20% sell-on clause on the profit from Frankfurt’s sale, PSG is set to receive around €15 million — a tidy bonus from a player who never made a full impact at the club.
Liverpool’s transfer spree tops €300M
Ekitike’s arrival pushes Liverpool’s summer spending beyond the €300 million mark. With the signings of Florian Wirtz (€125M), Jeremie Frimpong (€40M), Milos Kerkez (€47M), and now Ekitike, the Reds are building a formidable squad under their new project. If Isak joins, it would cap off a massive attacking overhaul.
The pressure is now on Ekitike — and possibly Isak — to deliver under the bright lights of Anfield.
