It’s now official: Arda Turan is the new manager of Shakhtar Donetsk. The Ukrainian club, who finished 3rd in the league this season, announced on Tuesday that the former Turkish international has signed a contract until June 2027.
After a promising managerial debut at Eyüpspor in Turkey’s second division, Turan now takes a major step up by joining a club with regular European ambitions. It’s a bold new chapter for the former Barcelona and Atlético Madrid midfielder, who continues to make strides in his coaching career.
Shakhtar is counting on Turan’s strong personality and high-level playing experience to bring fresh energy to the team.
