After months of uncertainty and stalled talks, Frenkie de Jong (28, 46 games, 2 goals in all competitions during the 2024-2025 season) has finally spoken out clearly about his future at FC Barcelona.

Frenkie de Jong is not leaving Barça anytime soon. “Yes, I’m going to sign a new contract with Barça. I’m very happy at the club. I haven’t signed yet, but it will happen,” the Dutch midfielder said after Barça’s 7-3 friendly win over FC Seoul on Thursday.

De Jong, whose current deal runs until June 2026, had never been this direct despite both sides showing interest in continuing their journey together. Now, it’s just a matter of time.
