Unexpected twist in Barcelona: Iñigo Martínez is set to join Al-Nassr… on a free transfer.
Despite earlier talks of an €8 million deal, Fabrizio Romano confirms that the defender will terminate his contract by mutual consent, allowing him to leave Barça without any transfer fee. Martínez was absent from training on Wednesday afternoon, and multiple Catalan outlets have confirmed his exit.
While Barça won’t pocket any cash, they will save between €12M and €14M in wages, giving the club some breathing room to register pending signings in La Liga.
