After a brief step back that reignited rumors of a departure, Cristiano Ronaldo quickly set the record straight. Despite tensions linked to fund management in the Middle East, he has given no indication of a split with Al-Nassr FC, where he says he is happy.
Cristiano Ronaldo is back in line. After several weeks of tension, things have improved with his club. Back on the pitch, the Portuguese star scored a brace in a 4-0 victory over Al-Hazem, allowing his team to reclaim the top spot in the league. At 41 years old, his objective remains unchanged: to win a first major title in Saudi Arabia.
Ronaldo Confirms His Commitment to Saudi Arabia
And he made it clear… he is not leaving. “I am very happy. As I often say, I belong to Saudi Arabia,” he told the local television channel Thmanyah Sports.
“It is a country that has welcomed me very well, as well as my family and friends. I am happy here and I want to stay. […] The most important thing is to keep fighting. We are at the top. We are doing our job, we are winning, we are applying pressure…” So there will be no sudden move to MLS or a return to Portugal.
So is everything back to normal with CR7? The Portuguese forward had been frustrated by the winter transfer dealings, including the move involving Karim Benzema, which he considered unfair. Under contract until June 2027, Cristiano Ronaldo has yet to win the Saudi league title since arriving in the kingdom in the winter of 2022-2023.
