Habib Beye Dismissed by Rennes, It’s Official!

The Habib Beye era on the Rennes bench has come to an end. The Breton club officially announced this Monday the launch of a formal procedure against its head coach and his staff, confirming his dismissal after a series of poor results.

This time, it is fully confirmed. After several days of rumors and denials, Habib Beye has been relieved of his duties by Stade Rennais.

Dismissal Confirmed After Poor Results and Internal Tensions

On a negative run with four consecutive defeats in all competitions, the Senegalese coach failed to turn things around, with another loss in Lens (1–3). Internal tensions with several senior players in the dressing room, including goalkeeper Brice Samba, also weighed heavily in the final decision.

In its statement, Stade Rennais specified that training sessions will be temporarily overseen by Sébastien Tambouret, Pierre-Alexandre Lelièvre, and Maxime Le Marchand. The search for a new head coach has already begun, with several names reportedly under consideration to take over.

“Stade Rennais F.C. has initiated a procedure concerning its head coach Mr. Habib Beye and his assistants Mr. Olivier Saragaglia, Mr. Sébastien Bichard, and Mr. Yann Cavezza. Pending the upcoming decision, training for the professional team will be conducted by Sébastien Tambouret, Pierre-Alexandre Lelièvre, and Maxime Le Marchand until further notice,” the club wrote in its official statement.
