It’s official: Jonathan David has signed with Juventus. The Canadian international (66 caps, 35 goals) leaves Lille as a free agent and has committed to a five-year deal, running until June 2030. The Italian club confirmed the move, revealing €12.5 million in registration fees.
David departs as Lille’s second all-time top scorer with 109 goals, having played a crucial role in their 2021 Ligue 1 title and their Champions League campaigns. He was a cornerstone of the team’s attack over five seasons.
Giroud steps in
To fill the void, Lille turned to Olivier Giroud. The 2018 World Cup winner joins the northern club to bring leadership and experience. At 38, he’s returning to Ligue 1 for one final challenge after successful stints in France, England, and Italy.
A major transition for Lille – saying goodbye to a rising star and welcoming a seasoned legend.
