It’s official—Bryan Mbeumo is now a Manchester United player. The club has confirmed the €81 million / £69 million transfer (including bonuses), landing the 25-year-old Cameroonian forward after his stunning season with Brentford (20 goals, 7 assists in the Premier League).
Despite strong interest from Chelsea, Liverpool, and Tottenham, United won the race for the former Troyes winger—even without the lure of European football. Mbeumo has signed a deal until 2030, with an option for one additional year.
He now becomes the 6th most expensive signing in the club’s history—behind Paul Pogba, Antony, Harry Maguire, Jadon Sancho, and Romelu Lukaku. It’s another bold move from the Red Devils, who continue their search for a long-term attacking solution after several underwhelming attempts.
Will Mbeumo finally be the answer up front? Time will tell.
