Marcus Rashford’s journey to complete his loan move to Barcelona hit an unexpected bump—and it had nothing to do with football.
Originally set to depart from Manchester, the Manchester United forward had to change airports last minute. The reason? A concert by Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher.
According to The Sun, the iconic band had reserved airspace over Manchester for a show at Heaton Park on Sunday. With restrictions in place, Rashford was forced to make a detour to East Midlands Airport, a two-hour drive away, to catch his flight to Spain.
Rashford to Barça
Despite the surprise disruption, Rashford did arrive safely in Barcelona, where he’ll finalize his loan deal with the Catalan giants.
A rock ’n’ roll delay no one saw coming—but the deal is still on track.
