Newcastle are going all-in. As they gear up for a return to the Champions League, the Magpies are preparing a massive €146 million (£123 million) spending spree to boost their squad — with three top targets already identified.
En résumé
João Pedro, Elanga and Trafford in the crosshairs
According to The Telegraph, Newcastle have submitted offers for:
- João Pedro (Brighton) and Anthony Elanga (Nottingham Forest): a combined bid of €58M (£49M)
- James Trafford (Burnley): €30M (£25M)
But there’s a snag — selling clubs are pushing back. Burnley, in particular, are holding out for €35M (£29.5M) for their goalkeeper.
The goal: wrap up two deals before July 7
With the summer ticking by and pre-season looming, Newcastle are keen to finalize at least two of these transfers before their squad reconvenes on July 7.
A bold statement of intent — Newcastle are clearly not in the Champions League to make up the numbers.
