The Yan Diomandé saga is starting to gain momentum. According to Bild Sport, PSG have been in talks for several weeks with the entourage of the Ivorian forward, to the point of considering a move for the Leipzig player in the coming weeks.
Yes, PSG are thinking about Yan Diomandé. But one figure is already raising eyebrows: more than €120 million would reportedly be needed to convince the German club to part ways with their gem, even though he is under contract until 2030. A fee that looks completely excessive for a player who is still far from having the status of a global superstar.
Leipzig’s Huge Price Tag Raises Questions
Diomandé, however, has done little to cool the rumours. Speaking to L’Équipe, the Ivory Coast international admitted his affection for the European champions: “PSG are a team I have loved since I was very young. But I am not thinking about the future, I remain focused on the World Cup, and we will see what happens next.”
On Leipzig’s side, this XXL valuation looks above all like a message sent to potential suitors. With a long-term contract and several major clubs already watching closely, the German club are in a strong position and have no obligation to sell this summer.
Still, going beyond the €120 million mark for such a young player seems hard to imagine, even for Paris. PSG like Diomandé’s profile, but at that price, the case looks more like a show of strength from Leipzig than a truly advanced negotiation. The coming weeks will show whether Parisian interest is concrete… or whether the €120m figure is just a huge smokescreen.
