The Gianluigi Donnarumma saga continues in Paris. Signed in 2021 from AC Milan, the 26-year-old goalkeeper — under contract until 2026 — is refusing to extend his deal under PSG’s new salary structure, according to Corriere della Sera.
The Italian outlet reveals that the club’s proposed contract — lower fixed salary with heavy performance-based bonuses — doesn’t sit well with Donnarumma, who reportedly feels “insulted” by the lack of support from PSG during tough spells last season.
“Hurt” and ready to walk?
The situation is tense. Donnarumma is said to be hurt by the club’s stance, and the PSG board is hardening its position: no extension, no place in the squad. After the drawn-out drama with Kylian Mbappé, the club is keen to avoid another lengthy soap opera.
Meanwhile, Manchester United and Manchester City are keeping close tabs on the Italian international, while Lucas Chevalier (LOSC) is expected to be the man PSG turns to between the posts.
The ball is now in Donnarumma’s court… but time is running out.
