According to RMC Sport, Ilya Zabarnyi has been identified as Paris Saint-Germain’s number one defensive target for the summer transfer window.
The 22-year-old Ukrainian centre-back, currently under contract with Bournemouth until 2029, is in advanced talks with the French champions — and the Premier League club is now open to a deal.
A verbal agreement has reportedly been reached with the player, and negotiations between PSG and Bournemouth are ongoing. The transfer fee is expected to be in the region of €60–65 million, a figure close to what Bournemouth received for Dean Huijsen’s move to Real Madrid earlier this month.
Bournemouth preparing Diakité as replacement
Meanwhile, Bournemouth are already preparing for Zabarnyi’s departure. They have made Bafodé Diakité (LOSC) their top priority to replace him, impressed by his performances in the Champions League last season against Real Madrid, Atlético, and Dortmund.
At PSG, no major changes are expected in midfield unless key players leave, but the club is still on the lookout for a versatile attacking reinforcement.
While the Zabarnyi deal is progressing well, there is no immediate announcement expected. PSG remain cautiously optimistic as talks continue.
