Another blow in the Real Madrid presidential campaign. While several rumors had suggested a possible surprise return for Jürgen Klopp to the dugout, the German coach’s entourage has firmly shut the door.
From Paris FC to Real Madrid, Jürgen Klopp is turning everything down. According to Fabrizio Romano, Klopp’s agent has denied any possibility of his client becoming the next Real Madrid manager. Some reports had nevertheless mentioned planned contacts with Raúl next week in the event of an election victory for Enrique Riquelme.
Klopp Rules Out a Club Coaching Return
But the answer was crystal clear. “It’s annoying. He is not planning to return to coaching a club and is happy at Red Bull,” his agent Marc Kosicke told Sky Germany. That clarification virtually buries all speculation about a return for the former Liverpool manager.
This refusal further strengthens José Mourinho’s position. For several weeks, the Portuguese coach has been presented as the leading favorite to return to the Madrid bench as part of Florentino Pérez’s project. He was even included in a campaign video by the incumbent president, sparking some controversy in the process.
With Klopp out of the picture, Mourinho now appears more than ever to be the strongman of Real Madrid’s future project. The Special One remains at the heart of numerous rumors linked to the club, including possible high-profile targets such as Vitinha, João Neves and Michael Olise, even though those deals look extremely complicated.
