Real Madrid’s blockbuster transfer window may be far from over. After securing the arrivals of Ibrahima Konaté, Marc Cucurella, Bernardo Silva, and Denzel Dumfries, José Mourinho is reportedly urging the club’s board to complete two more high-profile signings, according to Spanish outlet Marca.
Mourinho is determined to reshape the squad even further. His top priorities are a new central defender and a midfielder. In defense, Alessandro Bastoni and Nico Schlotterbeck have emerged as the leading targets. Bastoni is said to be Mourinho’s preferred option, although Inter would reportedly demand more than €70 million. Schlotterbeck has a €50 million release clause, but his recent ankle injury has made negotiations significantly more complicated.
Real Madrid Still Chasing Midfield Reinforcements
In midfield, Enzo Fernandez remains the club’s primary objective. However, Chelsea are reportedly asking for at least €139 million to part ways with the Argentine international. Meanwhile, Real Madrid continue to monitor young talents Mateus Fernandes of West Ham and Ayyoub Bouaddi of Lille as more affordable alternatives.
The Spanish giants could also spring one final surprise before the transfer window closes. Should several departures be confirmed in the coming weeks, Mourinho is keen to bring in a traditional target man capable of playing with his back to goal, similar to Joselu. One thing is clear: the Portuguese coach has no intention of stopping there and wants to build an even more formidable Real Madrid for the upcoming season.
