Manchester City are on the verge of smashing every record. According to The Athletic, the Citizens have reached an agreement with Nottingham Forest for the transfer of Elliot Anderson for €136 million, excluding bonuses.
Could Elliot Anderson become the most expensive transfer in Premier League history? It now looks imminent. The fee is already enormous, with €136 million before bonuses.
A Premier League Record Deal on the Horizon
But the total could rise even further. With the various add-ons included in the deal, the transfer could surpass the €150 million Liverpool paid for Alexander Isak and simply become the most expensive in Premier League history.
At 23, the midfielder is coming off a very successful season with Nottingham Forest, where he played 50 matches in all competitions and scored four goals. His performances convinced Pep Guardiola and Manchester City’s hierarchy to break the bank.
All that remains now is to finalize the last details of Anderson’s contract before the official announcement. Barring a last-minute twist, the Premier League is about to witness a new record transfer.
